A fraction of the dessert choices from Thanksgiving dinner. The Hyatt offered a Thanksgiving feast in Jinan. In addition to the food on this plate, there was an abundance of choices: seafood, cheese, salad, sushi, pizza, hamburger, turkey, cranberry, pumpkin-potato mash with truffle oil, lamb, steak, rabbit, hotpot, Guangzhou barbecue chicken, corn, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, red and green, and even more desserts.
Can’t tell you exactly what this is, but I liked it.
Dumplings or baoze, piping hot on Food Street.
There’s a fairly new Indian curry restaurant in Wanda mall. I’ve been there twice and both times had these wonderful “Indian Quesadillas.” They’ve got vegetables and curry inside. Delectable!
Friday I was taken to a new restaurant where we had this pumpkin. It seemed to be baked and coated with sugar. It was scrumptious, though we wondered if it would be even better with nutmeg, cloves, and sugar.
We ordered this at the restaurant Zodiak. It’s just sweet bread with a scoop of ice cream plopped on top. It’s a dessert, but I don’t think it’s worth the calories. It’s hugely popular. Go figure.
I bought some of the plums pictured above and they were outstanding.
I’m reminded of the William Carlos Williams poem:
This Is Just To Say
I have eaten
that were in
you were probably
they were delicious
and so cold
A new vegetarian restaurant in Jinan. I’ll have to check it out when I’m downtown.
