Weekly Photo Challenge: Texture

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced. 2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag. 3. Follow The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements, and subscribe to our newsletter – we’ll highlight great photos from each month’s most popular challenge.

Travel Theme: Simplify

Ailsa of Where’s My Backpack invites bloggers to post travel photos each week. This time she’s given us “Simplify” for a theme because the first week of August is Simplify Your Life Week. Now this is more of an escape than a life-changing simplification, but a day in Zhujiayu, just outside of Jinan is an idyllic experience.

A colleague worked hard to convince the school to acquire some appropriate, engaging books in English for our university library.

The sad thing is the library won’t let students check out these novels. It’s a pain to return to the library each day so you can read a bit more of a novel. Hence the books go unread and the collection is a showplace rather than a circulating library.

August Theme Day: Take Out

The City Daily Photo theme for August is “take-out food.” While in China there is food delivery and take out from McDonald’s, KFC, and the like, I think street food like the crabs and all above is true “Chinese take-out.”
