Lotus and Pork

I’d never had this. It’s lotus root stuffed with pork dipped in a coating and I’m guessing fried. It wasn’t what I expected at all. It wasn’t bad, just different. It came with a sprinkling of spices on the side.

Seder in Jinan

Thanks to my two Jewish colleagues we decided to have a Seder dinner. Lots of wonderful food and wine. Above is the charoset, which is made of nuts, apples, cinnamon and sugar. It symbolizes the mortar that the Israelites used to make the bricks for the pyramids.
