Not only is May 1st a City Daily Photo theme day, it’s also May Day a holiday in China that means massive crowds. As a dedicated CDP blogger, I summoned my patience and headed downtown to find an artisan. I had one in mind, but he’s disappeared from his usual spot. Fortunately, I happened upon this painter.

Jinan has an Ikea?

Could this be so? I wondered as I spied this sign. It’s the right colors, but everything else seemed off. I pressed on to investigate.

As much as I’d like to see an Ikea conveniently located in Jinan, it just looks too good to be true. Yes, there’s Ikea items and the prices are pretty close to what I’ve seen in their Guangzhou store, but a lot seems off. Very off.

One of the associated, who spoke English well, approached my friend and I and explained that this business helps people buy Ikea goods in Jinan. Interesting.
